Dr. Lori Grant
Lorri Grant, D.D.S. graduated from the University of Michigan, first with a degree in Spanish Language and Literature, and later, Dentistry. She began her dental career in Raleigh, NC and eventually relocated to Charlotte. Dr. Grant has been committed to improving access to dental care by participating in numerous free clinics and screenings in underserved areas. As a member of the National Health Service Corps, she has provided quality dental care to residents of rural North Carolina communities lacking such care. Dr. Grant is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and the North Carolina Dental Society. She and her husband are thrilled to have made their home in the Queen City.
Dr. Vairagi Sha
Dr. Vairagi Shah., D.D.S., was born and raised in New Jersey. She graduated from Rutgers State University with a dual degree in Management Science Information Systems and Economics. After graduation, Dr. Shah received her Post-Baccalaureate education in health sciences from the University of Pennsylvania. She furthered her education by pursuing her dental degree from New York University where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery. Dr. Shah chose to enrich her dental education with supplementing it with a GPR at Hackensack University Medical Center. Dr. Shah practiced dentistry in New Jersey for 5 years in pediatric practices before moving to Charlotte. Dr. Shah enjoys traveling, reading, music, watching movies, and visiting family and friends back home.
Dr. Lorette Polite-Young
Dr. Lorette Polite-Young, RPh, D.D.S., was born in Atlanta, Georgia and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. She graduated from Florida A&M University worked for a year in Jacksonville as a registered pharmacist. She attended Howard University College of Dentistry in Washington, D.C. for her dental school and pediatric training. After completing her two-year residency, she became a full-time instructor at Howard University College of Dentistry Pediatric Department for a year. Dr. Polite-Young moved to Charlotte, where she worked at a Non-profit pediatric dental office. Dr. Polite-Young opened “Young and Polite Children’s Dentistry” with her husband, Dr. Robert L. Young, Jr. Dr. Polite-Young is an active member of American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, National Dental Association, North Carolina Dental Association, American Dental Association, Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry, American Pharmaceutical Association, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Dr. Polite-Young enjoys attending church, reading, shopping , and most of all spending time with her husband and 4 children.
Dr. Robert L. Young Jr.
Dr. Robert L. Young Jr., D.D.S., was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. He graduated from Olympic High School. he matriculated to a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. After graduation, Dr. Young taught 7th and 8th-grade math and science for a year at Henderson Middle School in Henderson, North Carolina. He attended Howard University School of Dentistry and earned his Doctor of Dental surgery. He completed his general practice residency in Washington, D.C.He completed an additional two years of Pediatric Dental training at Howard University. While completing his pediatric dental training, Dr. Young was awarded the “Pediatric Dental Excellent Award”, which was awarded to the Dental Student with the highest academic average in Pediatric Dentistry. After completing his pediatric dental training, Dr. Young moved back to Charlotte. Later Dr. Young opened “Young and Polite Children’s Dentistry” with his wife Dr. Lorette Polite-Young. They have been listed as one of America’s Top Dentists in Pediatric Dentistry in the 2012 edition of Guide to America’s Top Dentists. Dr. Young is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, National Dental Association, American Dental Association, Charlotte Dental Society, and Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Young enjoys spending time with his 4 children and wife, traveling, reading, watching movies, and cheering on his favorite sports team.
Dr. Otude
Dr. Otude was raised in Greenville, North Carolina. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2006 with a degree in Exercise and Sport Science and worked as an Exercise Specialist, personal trainer, and group fitness instructor while completing post baccalaureate studies in Biological Sciences at NC State University from 2007-2010 before matriculating into dental school at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry in 2010. During her time at the University Of Kentucky College Of Dentistry, Dr. Gaither was able to participate in multiple Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery programs across the country as a dental student summer intern. Following graduation from dental school, Dr. Otude completed a 1 year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Fellowship at the University of Connecticut in Farmington, Connecticut and went on to practice dentistry in Arizona and Texas, treating both adults and pediatric patients. While in Texas, Dr. Otude served as Staff Dentist and Clinic Director at The University of Texas Health Science Center Houston in their Greenspoint outreach clinic, treating pediatric patients. Desiring to be closer to family, Dr. Otude moved back to North Carolina and practiced exodontia, implantalogy, prosthodontics, in addition to general dentistry for 5 years before deciding that she wanted to refocus on treating the pediatric population as well as patients with special needs. In May 2023, Dr. Otude graduated with the Highest Honors from Fayetteville Technical Community College with a diploma in Funeral Service Education/ Funeral Director and plans to own a crematorium in the future as she continues to practice dentistry. Dr. Otude is a member of the American Dental Association, North Carolina Dental Society, and Old North State Dental Society. Dr. Otude and her husband enjoy traveling and all things true crime. She also loves self-improvement material, dancing, and eating.
